We met the Emerics a few years ago at a Justin + Mary workshop in Los Angeles. We quickly became friends because of the joy they bring into this world. They’re just HAPPY people raising happy kids, and we kind of like that around here…
What’s your favorite happy family habit?
We always have dinner together as a family. We each get to talk about our day and share something funny that happened to us.
What’s your favorite thing about being a parent?
The best thing about being a parent is being able to teach our children about things we love and believe in. It’s awesome to watch them get totally into something and see their eyes light up when they get excited about stuff. Listening to their giggles and getting big hugs is the best and really makes it all worthwhile.
5 words that describe your family. Go.
Fun. Loving. Close-knit. Adventurous. Creative.
What’s one simple idea you do that you can share with the Happy Family Movement readers?
We’re really into Geocaching right now. It’s great when we’re out running errands and the kids start to get bored, we can usually find a Geocache nearby and it always helps get everyone in a better mood. Also great for long road trips 😉
Think back to your favorite family adventure. Where were you and what were you doing together?
We took a long weekend to Sedona, AZ last year and took the kiddos fishing for the first time. We were at a fish farm, so it was guaranteed we’d catch something. It was a ton of fun to watch them get excited to catch the fish. The place provided picnic tables and grills, so we got to eat what we caught. Elysse even ate the fish eyeballs and liked them! Yuck…
