One of the things I’ve learned about my kids is that if I want them to do something, it’s much easier if I just make the extra effort to make it fun. And cleaning up is something that I really need their help with! I know you understand… you’re making lunch and the kids are tearing up the house. You sit down to eat with them and then, before you’re three bites into your chicken tacos, they’ve cleaned their plates and are now imitating tornadoes tearing down the hall and into the bathroom, leaving a giant mess behind them.
And then you still have to clean up lunch. And the mess you made making lunch. And so on… it never ends! For the most part, my kids are pretty good about picking up. But the part that gets left undone, day in and day out, is the actual cleaning. You know, wiping down counters and such? I just can’t find enough time to do it all!
That’s where KidMissions come in handy! We’ve recently discovered that we can get our kids to do just about anything by telling them that it’s a mission… just for them. Seriously, it works! Just try it! So, I decided to come up with some special missions for the kids to help me get the kitchen and bathroom cleaned up.
Step 1: Choose your tools wisely! Method Cleaning Supplies are PERFECT for this… here’s why
1. Method cleaning supplies are all natural, so I don’t have to worry about my kids using harsh chemicals to do the cleaning. Their cutting-edge Powergreen technology gives you safe, effective cleaning for all surfaces. The non-toxic, naturally-derived formula, extracted from corn and coconut, cuts through grease and grime, leaving behind nothing but a fresh scent and gleaming surfaces.
2. The bottle is the perfect size for little kids… not too heavy and they spray nozzle works easily, so my kids don’t get frustrated.
3. They come in clear bottles and the cleaning solutions come in a rainbow of colors! My kids actually got excited (true story!) when I told them that I bought them each their own bottle of cleaning solution, in their favorite color.
Step 2: Download our free printable!
Step 3: Create your own KidMissions! Brainstorm the perfect missions for your kids. Our kids are obsessed with Harry Potter right now, so instead of telling them to clean the kitchen counters and the bathroom mirror, I used terminology straight out of the books to make it more fun.
Step 4: Get started! Both Ava and Lia had so much fun wiping down counters that they kept cleaning even after they had finished their lists!
