It’s easy to get caught up in being busy. We’re busy with school and soccer and birthday parties and activities and… the list goes on and on. And being busy makes it easy to forget that sometimes kids just need some free time to just play. Time to do whatever makes their heart sing, with no rules or schedules and certainly with no teachers, parents, and coaches telling them the right and wrong ways to do things.
We had a free afternoon recently and we were desperately trying to think of a fun activity. And then we realized that maybe we should just stay home and play. So we did just that. Ava decided she wanted to draw, which is usually what she’s doing when she’s not reading. Lia played in her little tikes car in the cul-de-sac. And Max played football with Josh. And they were all about as happy as they could be.
