The 2012 Summer Bucket List Challenge

We did it every summer. You know, summer’s coming and we make ‘the list’. In the past, it’s always been a verbal kinda thing. As in, “hey, we should take the kids to do such-and-such this summer.” “Yeah! And let’s go to that-one-place too!”

The truth is, somehow summer just sneaks right on by and before we know it, the kids are heading back to school and we didn’t do half the things we talked about!

So, last year, we made a summer bucket list! And I’m happy to report that we checked EVERY activity off our list! Well, except for ‘go to the drive-ins… we took that off the list when we realized how late the movies start!

And we were thrilled to have over 130 families join us for the very first Happy Family Movement Summer Bucket List Challenge!

We had SO much fun last summer that we’re doing it again this year! We’ve created our list and hung it up in our kitchen. And we can’t wait to start checking things off! We’ve got big plans for this summer… including ziplining and blueberry picking, catching fireflies and watching fireworks at the park, and building sandcastles at the beach and boogie boarding.

So, today is the official launch of the 2012 Summer Bucket List Challenge! We hope you’ll join us in making this summer the best one ever! We’ll be hosting a giveaway every day this week from one of our sponsors and then again every Friday throughout the entire summer!

The challenge ends on Labor Day and we’ll be giving away our grand prize, an Adventure in a Box: Fort Building kit and a copy of our Indoor Adventure Guide!

So, are you ready to join the 2012 Summer Bucket List Challenge?! Head on over here to get your family signed up! And while you’re at it, please share this post via Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and email! We are hoping to get 500 families signed up this year! And when you share it via social media, you’ll automatically be entered in the daily or weekly giveaway AND the grand prize drawing at the end of summer!

So, what are you waiting for?! Go sign up and get to planning for your best summer ever!

What a fantastic idea. It's just started spring down here in Australia. Our summer bucket list is going to start soon.

I am a family readiness support assistant for Army families in the Fort Belvoir area right outside DC. I was doing research to find items for my newsletter and came across this site. So when I stop to read it, I was very pleased with the concept. It doesn't have to be expensive and it keeps the family engaged with one another. I think this is a very good idea!! Thank you for sharing :-)

I can't resist. I've seen this idea TWICE this week, and today, I decided the first thing on my bucket list was to MAKE A FAMILY BUCKET LIST! We're ready to stick clothes pins on our pail and get started! Thanks for sharing!

Came on over from MTH and glad I did. I LOVE this idea. It's not exactly summer in Africa (because it always is) but we're goin' for this anyway ;)

My oldest son is finishing preschool in a few weeks and I've been looking forward to a fun summer before the big kindergarten kickoff. This challenge has me excited to map out all we want to do together as a family and to make it happen! Thanks!
